Our History
late March
2022
Freddy and David arrive at the Poland-Ukraine border and begin volunteering at the refugee camp located at Medyka, the most heavily exited of the 33 Ukrainian border crossings.
April
2022
At the turn of the month, David meets Andre, who is beginning to organize a Search And Rescue mission. Andre drives out to Kyiv in his Audi A100 and David and Freddy acquire the first of a string of vehicles to deliver humanitarian aid. Dave and Freddy begin raising funds and Andre begins recruiting for the mission to help evacuate more refugees from the dangerous parts of eastern Ukraine.
David meets Fabi, who lends systemic thinking and good contacts.
Freddy returns to New York to resume fundraising operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do you specialize in?
We specialize in Search And Rescue, with 24-hour logistical support for our Driver+Copilot Teams. We source knowledge of pickup points from our broad contacts as well as from local Oblast governments. We keep our vehicles supplied with our supply team and we have built up a fuel depot with canisters at our rear operations base. We analyze the news and work with partners for updates on dangers on the ground.
How do I know my money is making a difference?
We treat every Dollar, Euro, Zloty, and Hryvnia with the greatest urgency in deploying. There is no amount too small to make a difference, and we won't advertise meaningless or misleading numbers such "as low as $3 per evacuee." We evacuate from physically isolated places that are actively dangerous, where other organizations will not go. We are not a taxi service for people who could take a train.
After deducting sunk costs, such as the five vehicles we have now financed in large part from our own money, our cost-per-evacuation is now under $35, and lower each day. This cost includes not only petrol but the regularly needed repairs to vehicles and investments such as fuel reserve canisters, a team apartment, etc.
I've read from UN reports that only about 5,000 Ukrainian civilians are confirmed dead. Is it really so bad over there?
The United Nations is not presenting the numbers accurately or even in good faith. Over 50,000 Ukrainian civilians have died and over 2.5 million have been deported from occupied Ukraine into Russia, including more than 320,000 children. You can help prevent further deaths and kidnappings.
I can't make up my mind about which organization to give to...
Give us a call! There of course are other good ones out there too, and we partner with several.
